The world of work is changing.

The challenge

Mission

AI can gather, process, package, and present information faster and at much greater volume than humans.

It outperforms humans on quantity and is rapidly taking over human quantity-based tasks in every workplace.

AI cannot, however,  rival the human mind on quality.  These tasks will fall in the territory of human minds.

But the human mind is muzzled by the industrial-era work template that dominates every workplace

To succeed in this new AI-era, we must radically change the way we work.

Hyperefficient tells you how to navigate this new world.

The solution

Here are three ideas from the book.

1.   Get in gear

Your brain drifts across different states all day long.  It does its best work in only one of these states. If you can recognise these different states and  learn how to enter into the right mental state at any time, you will be able to produce your best work more often. Creative work needs a different mental state to focused work -- it's why you can't daydream and sprint at the same time!

2.    Run in rhythm

You can do intense work well for longer without feeling tired if you work in rhythmic cycles, such as a "power law" pattern. Certain times of the day are best for focused work and other times are best for creative work. You can enhance the quality of your work by matching the time of day to the kind of work you are doing. Every kind of work can be broken into rhythms and patterns.

3.    Find your flame

The goalposts of the past -- job guarantee, career progress, defined roles -- are quickly disappearing. You need a new kind of motivation to propel you forward.  One way to create this "inner fire" is by strategically playing with learning, mastery and progress.
